Heather Vinet Jones is a research scientist with over 14 years experience in the field of biomedical research and currently serves as the Research Coordinator for Dr. Kevin Darr’s Orthopedic Regenerative Medicine program at Covington Orthopedic Sports Medicine Institute.
She attended Tulane University and graduated cum laude in 2006 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
Her undergraduate research focused on vascular bioengineering, medical imaging and analysis and the mathematical analysis of infectious disease systems in nonhuman primates and ultimately led her to her past position as Director of the Biotelemetry Core within the division of Veterinary Medicine at the Tulane National Primate Research Center.
She was an integral part of the biodefense and emerging infectious disease research programs. Her work on infectious disease states and therapeutic interventions for such diseases has been published in numerous prestigious scientific journals including The Journal of Immunology and Journal of Infectious Diseases.
Heather is excited to bring her vast research knowledge to the clinical setting and take Dr. Darr’s Regenerative Medicine program to another level.
She will contribute her expertise to the development of protocols and coordination of the overall study design. She will also oversee all clinical trials and manage the recording and analysis of the data acquired.
